Description

Our instructional assistant internship program offers students a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the educational environment while actively contributing to the learning process. Interns will work closely with experienced educators in various capacities to support student learning and classroom management. Through a combination of observation, assistance, and independent practice, interns will develop essential skills and knowledge applicable to careers in education or related fields.

Interns will receive comprehensive supervision, training, and mentorship throughout their internship period. This support will come from various sources within our school community:

  • Lead Teachers: Interns will work closely with lead teachers in classrooms, receiving guidance and instruction on their duties and responsibilities. Lead teachers will provide day-to-day supervision, feedback on performance, and assistance with navigating classroom dynamics.
  • Instructional Coordinators: Our instructional coordinators will oversee the internship program, ensuring that interns receive appropriate training and support. They will provide guidance on instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and professional development opportunities.
  • Professional Development Workshops: Interns will have access to professional development workshops and training sessions. Training may cover topics such as lesson planning, curriculum development, behavior management.collective inquiry and action research.
  • Peer Mentoring: Interns may have the opportunity to participate in peer mentoring programs, where they can learn from other interns or former interns who have successfully completed the program. Peer mentors can provide valuable insights, tips, and support based on their own experiences.
