Description

This is a highly educational opportunity for any student looking to learn more about the field of ABA as it relates to children on the Autism spectrum. In addition to this being a paid internship, we also offer the opportunity to gain RBT certification during this internship at no cost. This certification remains with you even after your internship is completed and will allow you to pursue many employment opportunities during school breaks as you pursue your degree.

Responsibilities

Implementation of Play- Based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy:

        Demonstrate a commitment to the values of Integrity Learning Center daily & display good judgment and decision-making skills   

 

      Provide 1:1 direct instruction based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis for children with autism  



        Execute acquisition & mastered programs prescribed by the client’s treatment team  



      Engage client in meaningful play during breaks. Keeping breaks to an appropriate length based on the client’s Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP)

 

      Capture, contrive, and engage client in natural environment training and incidental teaching opportunities  

 

      Assists in client programming as instructed by the clinical assistant or supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)


Data Collection

      Maintain data collection in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner   

 

      Take and maintain detailed behavior notes, documentation, behavioral data, etc.   

 

      Complete Progress notes daily and accurately at time of therapy appointment  


Behavior Intervention

      Implement appropriate behavior management techniques as prescribed by the client’s behavior intervention plan  (BIP)  


Adherence to Values and Policies:

      Demonstrated commitment to promoting Integrity, Excellence, Creativity, Social Responsibility, and Caring in all aspects of the job.

 

      Uses social media responsibly

 

      Stay current on CPR training and quality standards for crisis management techniques   

 

      Exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and strictly maintain all HIPAA requirements   

 

      Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Guidelines for Responsible Conduct  


Other Duties

      Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment  

 

      Performs other duties as assigned by the BCBA or management team   

 

      Report to therapy appointments on time and communicate call outs as soon as possible   

 

      Maintain effective and professional communication with team members, management and parents    

 

Qualifications

RBT Certification:

      Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification


Education:

      Minimum of a high school diploma; pursuing or recently obtaining a degree in a relevant field of study is preferred

Experience:

      Previous experience working with individuals with ASD or developmental disorders preferred.

 

      Must be great with kids and very dependable

 

      Familiarity with play-based ABA therapy approaches is a plus.
