Description

The teacher oversees the daily operations of his/her assigned classroom. This includes establishing and maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment, Implement provided curriculum and sometimes planning additional activities, modeling best teaching practices, develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, parents, and students.

Facility hours anywhere between 6:30a-5:15p, M-F

Responsibilities

1. **Assisting in Lesson Planning**: The intern could support teachers in developing lesson plans tailored to different age groups and learning styles. This could involve researching age-appropriate activities, preparing materials, and helping to implement the plans in the classroom.

2. **Observation and Reflection**: Encourage the intern to observe classroom dynamics and reflect on their observations. They could maintain observation logs, noting children's behaviors, interactions, and learning outcomes.

3. **Creating Educational Resources**: The intern could create visual aids, educational games, or learning materials that align with the curriculum. 

4. **Supporting Individualized Learning**: Assist in activities that cater to children with diverse learning needs. This might involve one-on-one support during activities, adapting materials for specific learning styles, or participating in inclusion activities.

5. **Participating in Team Meetings**: Interns can participate in team meetings where they can contribute insights from their observations and learning experiences. This helps them understand the collaborative aspects of educational planning.

6. **Family Engagement Projects**: Help plan and execute projects aimed at engaging families in their children's learning process. This could include creating newsletters, organizing family events, or developing resources for parents.

7. **Professional Development**: Opportunities to attend workshops, seminars, or training sessions related to early childhood education. 

8. **Assessment and Evaluation**: Assist in conducting formative assessments of children's progress and learning outcomes. This might involve scoring assessments, compiling data, and contributing to assessment reports.

9. **Community Outreach**: Support initiatives that connect the early childhood center with the local community. This could include outreach programs, volunteer opportunities, or collaborations with other educational institutions.

These tasks not only provide valuable learning experiences but also contribute directly to the educational mission of the organization. 

Qualifications

--High School Diploma

--At least 18 years of age

--Holds or enrolled in a program for CDA, early childhood associate degree or bachelor of education degree.

--Ability to complete the following requirements before employment:
 -Drug Screen
 -TB Test
 -CPR & First Aid Certification
 -Fingerprints
 -Child Abuse & Neglect 60 minute online course
