Description

Supervision:

  • The intern will report directly to the Director of Process Development, who will provide day-to-day oversight and guidance. The Director will set clear expectations and provide regular feedback on performance, ensuring the intern has the support needed to succeed.

Training:

  • The internship program includes structured training sessions designed to build the intern's proficiency in key areas:
    • Project Management Tools: Training on platforms like Monday.com and Google Workspace to manage tasks, timelines, and project resources effectively.
    • Data Management: Hands-on training in data entry, spreadsheet management, and automation tools (e.g., Make.com) to streamline business processes.
    • Communication Skills: Guidance on professional communication, both written and verbal, including handling correspondence, preparing reports, and engaging with stakeholders.

Mentorship:

  • The intern will be paired with the Director of Process Development as their primary mentor, who will provide insights into the industry and advice on professional growth. Regular one-on-one meetings will be held to discuss progress, address challenges, and explore career aspirations.
  • Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to interact with other key team members, including those involved in project management, event coordination, and client relations, to gain a well-rounded understanding of the business.

    • Gain proficiency in using project management tools to plan, execute, and monitor projects from start to finish.

The intern will be engaged in a variety of tasks that go beyond standard administrative duties, ensuring a robust learning experience. Below is a breakdown of the intern’s responsibilities:

1. Project Management and Process Optimization:

  • Project Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of internal projects related to process development. This includes collaborating with the Director of Process Development to set project timelines, track progress, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Process Mapping: Work on mapping out existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and suggesting enhancements. This will involve using tools like Monday.com to visualize workflows and propose optimizations.
  • Automation Implementation: Learn to set up and manage automation tools (e.g., Make.com) to streamline repetitive tasks within the company. The intern will be responsible for identifying processes that can be automated and implementing solutions under the guidance of the Director of Process Development.

2. Data Management and Analysis:

  • Data Collection and Entry: Engage in data collection related to ongoing projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. This will involve using spreadsheets and other digital tools to manage and analyze data effectively.
  • Data Visualization: Assist in creating visual representations of data to support decision-making processes. This includes developing charts, graphs, and reports that convey key insights to stakeholders.
  • Database Maintenance: Support the maintenance of internal databases, ensuring that information is up-to-date and accessible. The intern will learn best practices in data management and gain hands-on experience with data-driven decision-making.

3. Business Development and Strategy Support:

  • Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and potential clients to support business development initiatives. The intern will compile findings into reports that inform strategic decisions.
  • Client and Vendor Coordination: Participate in coordinating with clients and vendors for ongoing projects. This includes assisting with communications, scheduling, and logistics for events or product deliveries.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Assist in organizing and executing company events, such as fundraisers or community engagement activities. The intern will gain experience in event logistics, vendor management, and post-event analysis.

4. Special Projects:

  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Take on specific process improvement projects that align with the intern’s interests and the company’s needs. These projects will be scoped out at the beginning of the internship and will involve independent research, proposal development, and implementation.

5. Professional Development and Learning:

  • Workshops and Training: Participate in internal workshops and training sessions focused on professional development. Topics may include project management, data analysis, communication skills, and industry-specific knowledge.
  • Mentorship and Feedback: Engage in regular mentorship sessions with the Director of Process Development to discuss progress, challenges, and career aspirations. The intern will receive constructive feedback and guidance throughout the internship.

Administrative Tasks (Limited to 25%):

  • Scheduling Support: Assist with scheduling meetings and events, ensuring that calendars are up-to-date and conflicts are avoided.
  • Document Preparation: Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents, applying learned skills in data visualization and professional communication.
  • General Office Tasks: Perform occasional administrative tasks such as filing, copying, or mailing, as needed to support project work.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program, preferably in business, management, data science, engineering, or a related field. However, all fields of study will be considered if the candidate has an interest in process development and business operations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic Technical Skills: Familiarity with common office software, such as Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets), and a willingness to learn new digital tools (e.g., Monday.com, Make.com) used in project management and data analysis.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, with a focus on clarity and professionalism. Prior experience in formal communication settings, such as class projects or volunteer work, is a plus but not required.
