Staff Accountant

Description

Swift & Associates is a family-owned accounting firm in Muncie, IN. We provide tax services to individuals and businesses with the goal of simplifying the tax process for our clients. The objective of our internship program is to provide hands-on experience in tax preparation, understanding of tax regulations, and exposure to client interactions. The length of our internship aligns with busy season (January-April). The working hours are flexibile to meet the needs of students who are enrolled in classes. Our hours of operation are Mon-Fri 8-5 and Saturday 8-12, and we expect an average of 20 hours weekly. 

Responsibilities

The routine tasks include: data entry, document preparation, research, and administrative support. The intern responsibilities include: assisting with tax returns, client interaction, data anaylsis, and tax planning. Other responsibilities may include administrative work such as filing and managing incoming phone calls.

Qualifications

We are looking for an intern who is currently enrolled in college, preferably within the study of Accounting. More importantly, we are looking for a mix of skills and personal attributes to ensure that they can contribute effectively to our team and benefit from the intership. Some of these skills include: attention to detail, research, communication, and problem-solving skills. We would love to find an intern with a genuine interest in tax accounting and a career in the field.
