Description
Working as part of the Fundraising Data Analytics team and reporting to the Director, Fundraising Data Analytics, the Fundraising Data Analytics (FDA) Intern enables data driven decisions through report writing. This person will work closely with the Fundraising Data Analyst to manage the reporting queue, complete report edits, and produce new reports to meet business needs, utilizing the CRM and Microsoft SQL Server. They will also assist the Director, Fundraising Data Analytics with project coordination.
Responsibilities
Interning at Riley Children's Foundation offers a first-hand glimpse of how the Foundation ensures that children have access to exceptional healthcare by funding pediatric research, education and care. We at Riley Children's Foundation raise funds statewide and steward assets for the kids.
1. Reporting
•Development: Build queries, reports, and exports using tools such as the CRM’s reporting function, SQL, and SSRS to support fundraising and strategic business goals.
•Training: Empower users to be self-sufficient in reaching their reporting needs as the system allows. Run existing queries as requested by users which are not available to them due to complexity or permissions.
•Documentation: Assist the Fundraising Data Analyst in documenting report-related processes and data models.
2. FDA Team Support
•Project Coordination: Working with the Director, Fundraising Data Analytics, provide project support for the team, including documenting needs, coordinating/delivering status updates, tracking progress, and training.
•Documentation: Working with the team, create process documentation, SOP’s, and training materials as needed.
3. Prospect Development Data Entry
•Working with the Prospect Development Manager, assist with the entry of research data for key prospects (prospective donors) to help ensure our fundraisers have data which can help them cultivate the best relationship they can with these prospects.
4. Other Duties as Assigned
•Riley Children’s Foundation Events: Participate in Riley Children’s Foundation events as requested.
•Other duties as assigned.
Intern may be assigned projects from the wider Riley Children’s Foundation team. The intern manager will work to identify additional projects or shadowing opportunities that align with intern’s professional interests.
Qualifications
• Preferred Majors: Analytics, Informatics, Computer Science, Business, Information Science,
or
similar majors would find this internship beneficial to their career goals and would most likely
possess the skills needed to perform assigned projects and tasks.
• Technical Skills Needed: Experience writing SQL, knowledge of/experience with relational
databases, interest/experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office
• Professional Skills Needed: Solid verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to
detail and organization. Proven problem solving, research, and analytical skills. Ability to handle
confidential information.
