Description

George E Booth Company is the preeminent Midwest distributor of Process Instrumentation, Valves and Controls used in the production of pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water, and chemicals. Their products are used to control fluid flow, level, pressure, temperature and analytical applications. Today, Booth's products span a broad range of products and services designed to meet the diverse needs of its customers throughout Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.   

In our Panel shop we build the control panels that control the instrumentation devices that we sell to our customers.

The work based learning will utilize the knowledge and skills that they have developed in the classroom and apply to a real world work environment application.  

Our panel shop builder has created a goals sheet for items to be discussed and learned during thier first month with us.  For example, during their first month with us they will learn:

*Inventory Management

*Wiring Machines

*Ferrule Machine

*Label Machine

*Laser

*Learning Real World Schematics

*Wiring a panel with Schematics

*Factory Testing their own panel

***all of these will be done with assistance from the panel shop manager

Responsibilities

The George E. Booth Co., Inc is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their first student from Area 31 Career Center DIM Program for an Work-Based Learning Experience.  Visit www.gebooth.com to learn more about the company values, products, and industry. Work-Based Learner will be responsible for performing day-to-day functions with their assigned team while gaining business knowledge, sales, and engineering experience. 

Responsibilities of the Work-Based Learning Experience

  • Gain knowledge and practice of industry skills.
  • Improve professional soft skills.
  • Build up a professional network and support system.
  • Learn about industry computer-based software programs and tools.
  • Increase knowledge of professional working environments. 
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision. 

Requirements of the Work-Based Learning Experience:

  • Current Student in High School and attending Area 31 Career Center for Digital Integrated Manufacturing program.  

The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to learn and develop their professional skills within the industry. A willingness to learn and acquire new skills both professionally and technically will be a must to succeed.
