Description

The summer intern is responsible for working with the Extension Office staff in teaching opportunities as well as assisting in secretarial type duties. The intern will work directly with the Extension Educators to plan, organize and carry-out the county programs. Intern must provide transportation to and from worksite. Duties are not limited to, but may include the following:

             โ—   Organize & prepare mailings, notices, flyers, etc.

            โ—    Organize county fair 4-H records, 4-H awards, materials, supplies, etc.

            โ—   Facilitate Mini 4-H Camp, Summer Garden Camp

            โ—   Organize and facilitate Read, Taste, Touch of Agriculture program, and F4: Family, Finance, Food and Fitness initiative

            โ—   Prepare displays for county fair

            โ—   Assist with 4-H and Open Class project check-in and check-out

            โ—   Arrange 4-H/Open Class projects and display for public viewing

            โ—   Staff 4-H/Open Class office during the county fair and assist with paperwork

            โ—   Inventory fair supplies, update records, inventory 4-H project manuals

  โ—   Staff 4-H/Open Class office during the county fair and assist with paperwork

  • Inventory fair supplies, update records, inventory 4-H project manuals

Qualifications

Task oriented; self-starter; ability to work well on an individual and collaborative basis from youth through adult age groups. Be professional in dress, attitude, communication and issues of confidentiality. Ability to juggle multiple projects. Excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Publisher. May be opportunities to work with staff in developing video clips.
