Description
Essential Functions:
- Assist with data collection and analysis, literature review, and other projects as needed.
- Staffing the budget process, fiscal committees.
- Responding to legislator inquiries about tax, fiscal, and budget matters.
- Tracking changes in budget and fiscal issues throughout the legislative session.
- Time sensitivity and short turnaround time during the swiftly moving legislative process
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in performing complex analyses
- Proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with or ability to learn Microsoft Power BI to assist with data visualization
- Ability to write and summarize fiscal and policy documents and legislation for state legislators’ use
- Familiarity with SQL and R programming languages is a plus
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Economics, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related course of study.
