Description
Our Mission at the Studebaker National Museum is to be a center for the interpretation of history, design, and innovation that connects and inspires the community and enthusiasts around the world. This is accomplished through programming, active collecting, and the display of vehicles, archival materials, and artifacts that showcase the local and global influence of Studebaker and related industrial innovators.
This position reports to the Museum's Curator, who will oversee all projects throughout the duration of the internship. Through this connection, the intern will learn how to care for small collections, basic exhibition design, and office management skills.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Projects will be determined through assessment of an intern’s interest as well as the needs of the Museum. During their term at the Museum, an intern may work on projects inclusive of any of the following areas:
- Assist with the development and implementation of educational programming
- Assist with execution of the Museum's signature event: The Concours d'Elegance at Copshaholm
- Develop historical content for the Museum's socials and website
- Assist with general office management tasks
- Assist the Curator with exhibition research and installation
- Assist the Curator with Collections cataloguing and maintenance
- Assist the Curator with processing incoming and outgoing loans
- Assist with moving Collections objects such as vehicles
Qualifications
Internships are available for any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program. Candidates will be judged based upon demonstrated interest in the field as well as past experience and education.
EARN Indiana students will recieve prioritization for this position.
Please note that this position may not exceed 35 hours per week.
