Founded in 2004 by Dan Coats and Jay Hein, Sagamore builds and implements innovative solutions to society’s biggest problems. Through research, consulting, and impact investing, we fight for a society uplifted by heartland policy innovation, business solutions, and citizen engagement. Sagamore is seeking Research Interns to support this dynamic, fast-paced work through research, writing and administrative responsibilities. Interested candidates should be self-directed problem solvers that demonstrate excellence, humility, and grit in their personal and/or professional experiences.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This position is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to
Conduct research – including interviews, reading and independent research – related to various program topics and partners.
Create blog posts, stories, features, articles, and other deliverables featuring program topics and partners.
Collaborate with headquarters staff to showcase program topics and partners.
Provide support for Headquarters projects, including website updates, communications, document management, and administration.
Conduct assignments for assigned supervisor, including researching, writing, and editing.
Attend and participate in policy conversations and other events as required.
Complete evaluation and reporting tasks.
Conduct themselves as representatives of Sagamore Institute when interacting with members of the community.
Qualifications
Length: This year’s summer program will run from June 2nd through July 25th, 2024
Hours: Unless otherwise arranged, intern work hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Friday remote if desired.
Compensation: This position will pay $10.70/hr.
Skills and Qualifications: Competitive applicants will possess:
Strong research skills and excellent writing and proofreading abilities
Strong interest in at least one Sagamore program area
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
