Description

The Accounting Intern contributes to the overall success of Langham Logistics by assisting the Accounting Department with special accounting projects and processes that will help to develop and implement efficiencies in the accounting operations.

The Intern will collaborate with the Accounting team to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and finance, apply theoretical knowledge and gain practical skills in a dynamic and supporting environment.  The intern will have the chance to work with various accounting systems and software while learning industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies.

As part of the internship, the intern will gain exposure to a dynamic environment that will allow the student to apply classroom knowledge to real world scenarios and develop essential skills for a successful career in accounting or finance. This internship will also provide the student with the opportunity for exposure to and network with Accounting professionals.  

Responsibilities

Summer 2025 Special Project Participation

  • Participate in the new ERP implementation, requiring UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
  • Validate the accuracy of imported data from the legacy system
  • Other tasks, projects and activities relating to new systems implementation

General Outcomes

  • Assist with various accounting processes such as reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, vendor payments and customer invoicing.
  • Support month end activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparing financial statements and reports for management review
  • Conduct research and analysis to support accounting and finance special projects
  • Learn and apply accounting standards and practices to all tasks.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, providing input and suggestions for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development related to the Accounting/Finance fields.
  • Provide administrative support to the Accounting/Finance teams as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment on project goals and progress.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (ex: QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc.)
  • Interest in the specific Accounting/Finance fields
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to apply accounting theoretical knowledge to practical problems
  • Understanding of basic principles of accounting (GAAP), revenue and expenses principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Availability to work full-time during the summer
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience through projects, labs, or previous internships is a plus
