Position Summary:
Aalberts Hydronic Flow Control is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our engineering team on key projects related to product design, process improvement, and manufacturing optimization. This hands-on role offers exposure to real-world engineering applications in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and modifying product designs to improve manufacturability and performance.

Create and update detailed CAD models and engineering drawings (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Support engineering change processes, including BOM creation, part number assignments, and prototyping coordination.

Contribute to process improvement projects, such as standardizing work procedures, documenting best practices, and designing training materials.

Work with operators and engineers to identify line improvement opportunities, utilizing 3D printing, CAD prototyping, and workflow enhancements.

Collaborate with packaging suppliers to finalize packaging designs for various products.

Assist in creating Revit files and updating the company website to enhance accessibility and functionality (if applicable).

Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions to gain industry knowledge and insights.

Maintain a detailed project log and present a summary of key learnings and contributions at the end of the internship.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD preferred).

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and develop solutions.

Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present findings.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Familiarity with 3D printing and prototyping (preferred but not required).
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
-
This role is based in a light manufacturing warehouse environment with periodic exposure to hot, humid, or cold (non-weather) conditions.

Must be able to walk, climb, stoop, bend, and reach with hands/arms as needed.

Occasionally required to lift up to 30 lbs.
