Description

The Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center (FBGNC) is a 501c3 nonprofit agency that has been a pillar in the Crooked Creek community since 1984. FBGNC serves the Northwest and Northcentral Indianapolis area, including parts of Pike and Washington townships. FBGNC’s service area consists of over 100,000 residents.

The Financial Coach Intern will support the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center (FBGNC) in providing financial education and coaching to low- to moderate-income families. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial coaching, community outreach, and program administration. The intern will assist participants in goal setting, budgeting, credit building, and financial literacy while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit financial empowerment programs.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in one-on-one financial coaching sessions by gathering participant information and preparing materials.
  • Support participants with budgeting, credit-building strategies, debt repayment plans, and savings goals.
  • Help track participant progress and follow up on referrals to financial professionals.
  • Maintain and organize participant records, including intake forms, credit reports, and coaching notes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and facilitating financial education workshops.
  • Support participant engagement in financial education sessions.
  • Collect and organize program data for reporting purposes.
  • Research and connect participants to additional community resources.
  • Assist with special projects and community outreach events.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Passion for financial literacy, community service, and economic empowerment
