Are you a dynamic individual who loves to work with kids and their caregivers? The Kendallville Public Library is looking for a youth services assistant to join our team. We are an innovative and community friendly library. Our mission is to provide access to information for life. And we do just that through engaging programming, active readers' advisory, collection managment and much more. 

This position is for a Youth Services Summer Assistant. This individual will be supervised by the Youth Services Department Manager for a total of 20 hours/week May 26 - August 2.

Kendallville Public Library, Kendallville, Indiana

WAGE: $12.50 an hour

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time (20 hours), day, evening, and Saturday hours as needed throughout the summer months.

SUMMARY: Are you a dynamic individual who loves to work with kids and their caregivers? The Kendallville Public Library is looking for a youth services assistant to join our team. 

Excellent candidates will be able to:

• develop cooperative programs between the public library and community organizations, including schools, camps, daycares, and other groups
• provide excellent customer service for all visitors
• work in a fast-paced environment
• collaborate as part of a team
• adapt to change
• know when to follow directives or take initiative
• multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• effectively use interview skills to best determine a customer's needs
• be flexible with a sense of humor
• all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates will need to be at least 16 years of age.  Basic computer skills are required, and knowledge of Microsoft Office software is a plus.
