Preschool Assistant Teacher
Description
We are a licensed early education facility with 142 students ages infant to school age. We are looking for eager and responsible interns to help instruct in our preschool and school age groups. Mentorship includes full immersion into our educational setting - including learning how to craft and implement educational instruction (lesson plans, activities, parent/teacher engagement and child assesments), as well as learning procedures and protocols for a thriving educational facility. You will learn independent skills such as time management, active reflection, mental wellness, health & safety (including CPR/1st aid), managing child behaviors, payroll and human resource components, and ethics/professionalism. Our goal is to empower and support your educational journey and strive to hire as a full-time post-graduate position.
Responsibilities
Interns will be an essential component to the classroom environment and participate in daily activities and planning with a teaching team. They will be responsible for creating a portion of lessons and outdoor learning and carrying out those activities. Additionally - throughout the work year they will participate in program training and professional development geared specifically to the candidate, including individual reflection journals and projects to support mental wellness.
Qualifications
Candidate must be at least 16 years old and a Junior or Senior in school and be able to work through their schools vocational co-op program or internship required components. Candidate will be required to complete pre-hire training, including drug screens, TB testing, a physical/eye exam, and state background checks/fingerprinting. No experience is necessary - but prior experience working with children is preferred. We will provide on-site mentoring, coaching, and training.
