Spring breaks are this month for many high schools, colleges and universities. You may be planning to kick back and relax for a week, but hereâs a list of productive activities you could do instead.
This may sound boring, but the end of the semester brings deadlines for projects youâve been putting off. You donât have to spend every day at the library studying for those final exams coming up in May. Use this time to catch up, so you donât fall behind later. Dedicate a few hours throughout the week to work on assignments.
2 . Get organized
Students have busy lives, which can leave little time for organization. Use this free time to clean out your backpack and organize your notes. If you have the momentum, clean and organize your room/apartment/house. Spring is almost here, you can get a head start on spring cleaning!
3 . Look ahead
Many students will be graduating in May and wondering what career path to take. Research your options and what positions are available in your area. This is also a great time to prepare your cover letters and resumes. You should send these out early in the week in case youâre called for an interview. This will make scheduling a time much easier when you donât have to maneuver around your school and work schedule.
If you canât decide what path to take, search for an internship. There are many internships offered during the summer. Even if youâre still semesters away from graduating, interning would be a great experience for you as well. If youâre interested in receiving college credit, talk to an advisor to confirm an opportunity is eligible for credit.
4 . Have fun
The end of the semester is drawing near and the stress is building. Take some time to relax and unwind before class is back in session. If youâve opted for a âstaycation,â plan a local outing. Explore a nearby town/city you havenât spent much time in before. There are plenty of museums and other attractions all across the state of Indiana.
Whatever your spring break plans may be, remember to be safe and have some fun.
