College senioritis is different from high school senioritis.
At its very core you might be thinking, âwell arenât they the same thing?â and in many ways, youâre right. By this point in your academic career itâs your fourth year at yet another institution and youâre probably tired. Donât get me wrong, though, college is still a very exciting place. The social aspect is finally comfortable, you have your friends and social circles set in stone. However, the coursework is a different story. Itâs become repetitive and tedious in some ways. And since youâre so close to finally getting out into the world and starting your career you have to plan for that, too.
It might seem like a good idea to push aside all your responsibilities until they start to catch up with you because it is just so overwhelming to think about, right?
Wrong. Senioritis can cost you if you fall far behind. And whatâs that worth after all these successful years as an undergrad? If you think that you have been struggling with senioritis this semester, youâve come to the right place. Here are my 4 steps to conquer college senioritis:
Get organized, and stay organized!
Getting organized doesnât just mean your physical space (although, thatâs helpful too), it means priorities. When you know what you prioritize most to least, itâs easy to organize your life around that.
Take care of yourself
Personal health is important. To ensure that you are preforming your best when you set foot out into the world, always make sure to set aside a âself-loveâ day and check in with you. Mental and physical health are equally important.
Donât limit yourself
Just because you always dreamed of living in New York City doesnât mean thatâs what you have to do. Take time to explore the opportunities available around and far away from your dream home â you never know what you might find.
Be your own motivator
Self-motivation is a skill at the center of adulting. The best way to stay motivated is to make sure youâre doing something that brings you joy. So, if youâre involved in different organizations on campus, keep that up! If thereâs a creative project you want to immerse yourself in, do that! Take advantage of this last semester of school while you have your universityâs resources at your fingertips â you wonât regret it.
