Virtual via Zoom
The Institute for Workforce Excellence is hosting a free workshop for employers to learn more about the Institute’s Work and Learn Indiana program – specifically, how to create quality work-based learning opportunities and take advantage of EARN Indiana funding. Work and Learn Indiana has partnered with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education since 2013 to offer employers a 50% wage reimbursement for work-based learning experiences. In 2019, the program expanded to include high school students.
The Employment Aid Readiness Network (EARN) Indiana program is available to employers that offer high-quality work-based learning experiences and hire an eligible Indiana high school or college student. Employers can be reimbursed up to 50% of the student’s wages for a qualifying experience. Employers can receive up to $30,000 per fiscal year! The Institute’s team will walk attendees through connecting to their Work and Learn Indiana platform, featuring how to post internships, connect with students, and submit hours for reimbursement.
AHEAD Human Resource Info Session Ft. Work-Based Learning Employment Compliance and Insurance
7/25/2024, 12:30-1 p.m. (EDT)
Virtual via Zoom
The Institute for Workforce Excellence, in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Education, will be hosting an AHEAD Human Resources representative to address employer questions related to work-based learning workers compensation and liability.
During the 2022 session of the Indiana General Assembly, the legislature passed legislation (House Enrolled Act 1094) seeking to procure a vendor, either through contract or MOU, who can assist employers in mitigating the liability concerns. We have elected to partner with AHEAD Human Resources as part of this effort.
AHEAD Human Resources began in March 1995 as a temporary staffing agency. In January 1996, AHEAD expanded into the then new field of employee leasing, becoming one of the first Professional Employer Organizations, “PEO,” in the state of Kentucky. The firm continues to offer PEO services and has evolved into offering outsourced Human Resource Services to small and mid-size businesses, basically becoming their offsite HR department. A few years later, the company began offering franchises for both the Staffing, and PEO businesses.
During the virtual information session, AHEAD Human Resources will address questions and concerns from the audience while also providing an overview of services offered.
