This is a guest blog by Macy Gentry, intern at Milliner & Associates, LLC in Indianapolis. Gentry is a senior at Marian University.
When I reflect on the short amount of time I have been at Milliner & Associates and all that I have learned so far, I can only be thankful.
I am a full time student, a cheerleader, a resident assistant, a girlfriend, a daughter, a friend – the list goes on and on. Yet, with my busy schedule, I am glad I took the risk of adding another commitment and deciding to take this internship.
Each week has taught me something new and has presented its own challenges, and I am so blessed to have such a great team behind me every step of the way.
Although I am still deciding what I want to do in terms of a career, this internship continues to provide useful knowledge and insight that will help me down any career path I choose.
As each week passes, I find myself feeling more confident and prepared. I do not fear new challenges, but am now excited and eager to be pushed to the best of my ability. Even when I come in and have a stack of files to the ceiling to sort through after a few days off, I embrace the challenge and love every minute of it. I have become a better student and leader because of this internship and it is so rewarding to watch myself progress each week.
My time at Milliner & Associates is something I truly value, and I know that by the end of this experience I will be far more prepared for life’s journey.
