Brittany Ulman: Making an IMPACT
 Indiana INTERNnet celebrated internship excellence on February 8, 2017, at the 11th Annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon. Though the event is over and the winners have been announced, we are continuing to celebrate the nomineesâ successes.

Brittany Ulman is a graduate of Ball State University with a bachelorâs degree in creative writing. She completed a marketing internship with International Floral Distributors, Inc.
Indiana INTERNnet: How did you become interested in pursuing your degree?
Brittany Ulman: When I first started at Ball State, I was a dietetics major with the full intention of completing my internship in a hospital and becoming the dietitian in an Intensive Care Unit at a hospital close to my hometown. Nick Maines is junior at Marian University, expecting to graduate in May 2018. He interned with Northwestern Mutual as a college financial representative.
Indiana INTERNnet: What made you interested in studying marketing?
Nick Maines: I decided to pursue this major, because I might want to go into sales someday. Marketing is very broad and it’s in all industries, so it gives me a lot of options in terms of jobs after college.

Shooting for Success at IMPACT Awards
Indiana INTERNnet honored excellence among interns, employers and career development professionals at the 11th annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College.
The theme for the luncheon was âShooting for Successâ and Tamika Catchings, four-time Olympic gold medalist, WNBA All-Star and founder of Catch the Stars Foundation delivered the keynote address, âScoring Big with Your Career.â
Before Catchings finished her final season with Indiana Fever, she participated in a National Basketball Association (NBA) program that helps NBA and Womenâs National Basketball Association (WNBA) players plan for life after basketball. Catchings interned at the WNBA league office in New York City. The experience and knowledge she gained through her internship will prepare her for her new position as game analyst for SEC Network.
