Hi! Iām Alexandra (āAlexā) Forsythe. Iāve been fortunate to have worked as an intern for NASA, Raytheon, and Ultra Electronics USSI. I designed a mission critical circuit board for NASA that will be used in an upcoming launch. For Raytheon, I programmed artificial neural networks. Iām a year-round intern for Ultra Electronics USSI, where I have been placed in charge of a new innovative product, and Iāll be an FPGA/ASIC design engineering intern for Intel next summer. At Indiana Tech, Iām a double major in electrical engineering and computer engineering with minors in CS and math, and Iām an officer in four student organizations.

Indiana INTERNnet celebrated internship excellence on Feb. 4, 2015, at the 9th Annual IMPACT Awards luncheon. Though the event is over and the winners have been announced, we are continuing to celebrate the nomineesā successes.

IIN: Your nominator wrote that you āworked to create new training and development opportunitiesā for employees at Johnson Controls. Thatās a great experience for an intern!
AB: What I did was create a deck to teach employees about the hiring process at Johnson Controls. There was nothing set up for this and managers were very unsure about the steps they needed to take. There were often many people in the HR office asking questions about next steps. After creating this deck, it was presented and implemented to the automotive interiors division.

During the summer of 2013, I had the pleasure of being an engineering intern at Oji Intertech in North Manchester, IN. Oji is a growing company that serves the automotive and industrial packaging industries. Their core competencies are centered on compression molding, die cutting, assembly and extrusion coating. I worked under the supervision of Aaron Highley, who also graduated from Indiana Tech and has been working at Oji for more than 2 years.
