The Children’s Museum takes an interactive approach to teaching children about education, science, history and the arts.
OUR MISSION
To create extraordinary learning experiences across the arts, sciences and humanities that have the power to transform the lives of children and families.
OUR VISION
To be recognized as the global leader among all museums and cultural institutions serving children and families.
THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Museum hosts approximately 60 diverse and highly skilled interns throughout the year and invites students from all majors to apply and join the organization. There are a variety of internship opportunities available for undergraduate, graduate and recent graduates who choose to apply.
We offer customized, staff-level internships to qualified undergraduate students, recent graduates and graduate students. Internships at The Children’s Museum are intensive project based educational and professional experiences that often count toward academic credit. Enthusiastic mentors work with interns to develop job skills and to discover the inner workings of a multi-million dollar cultural institution. Interns receive staff-level training and take part in a professional development series. All interns have the opportunity to participate in the President/CEO Lecture Series. Internships provide well-rounded, hands-on, educational experiences.
This highly competitive program requires diverse outstanding individuals interested in working with and for children. Individuals from a variety of fields of study find a niche at the museum, from non-profit administration to fine arts. Internships are unpaid, but several scholarships are available to qualified applicants.
