About

I am pleased to share with you the Holistic Evolution Inc. (H.E)  five year strategic plan, “H.E. People 2030.” This plan, which covers 2025 to 2030, is the result of nine months of conversations with internal and external stakeholders. I am grateful for their patience and support during this process. This plan reflects the H.E. Vision and how we will work with our community partners to make it come to pass.

I will start with a parable God gave me to explain the H.E. approach and the naming of our strategic plan.

Mark 4:3-8 (NIV)

3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It Sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

While Matthew 13:19-23 (NIV) covers what Jesus Christ meant by this parable, I’m going to share with you the revelation that I received from it. God used this scripture to help me explain the H.E. approach to change the lives of young males of color 16-24(YMC). If we could imagine for a moment that the farmers’ seeds in the parable represent all YMC. Imagine that some YMC are living, working, playing, in communities where the birds eat them up, and some YMC are in communities where they have no roots and the sun or any opposition scorches them until they wither and die, and some YMC are in communities that they do not bear grain or produce anything. Now imagine YMC in the H.E. community and they produce crops multiplying a hundred times over.

Our new organizational vision statement is “We envision a world where young men of color are safe, supported and resourced to achieve their optimum quality of life” Our new organizational mission statement is “to build a community that encourages the positive evolution of young men of color ages 16- 24 by supporting mentoring, health equity, and other prevention efforts and providing resources to remove unforeseen barriers to this evolution of young men of color.”

The H.E. People 2030 strategic plan will outline our impending efforts to transform communities where YMC live, work and play. I look forward to all of your  support in realizing the H.E. vision on behalf of YMC.
