Organization Overview
Created in 2005 as part of an effort to consolidate IT organization across Indiana’s state government, IOT is the backbone provider of IT services, support, and policy in the executive branch. As set forth in the Indiana Code, IOT: establishes standards for technology infrastructure; improves IT services to enhance citizen services; brings the best and most appropriate technology solutions to bear on state applications; improves and expands government services provided electronically; and provides for the technology and procedures necessary for the state to do business with the greatest security possible.
Program Overview
In partnership with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s Office of Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships, the SEAL IT Program reskills a diverse group of adult citizens into information technology and security careers. The program’s model pairs on-the-job learning within IOT teams with paid study time that supports achievement of industry-valued certifications (including, but not limited to, CompTIA’s A+, Network+, and Security+).
