Description

The International Monster Truck Museum is dedicated to preserving Monster Truck History. The museum's goal is to enhance the general public's knowledge regarding the design, development, construction, and history of monster trucks and their impact on America's automotive history. The museum is looking for a Media & Archival Intern to work under our Executive Director to digitize literary materials. Interns will learn how to process and digitize collections while  creating the groundwork for a digital library.

Responsibilities

Interns will scan, label, and document paper materials from the archive to set the groundwork for a digital library. They will learn to use a scanner to process and upload images to computer software. Interns will help process and store incoming collections and determine what materials need to be added to the digital library. They will work with museum staff to research and write descriptions for said materials to be used in museum displays. Other tasks will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Interns should have general computer knowledge to carry out tasks successfully. They need to be comfortable speaking in public and have strong communication skills; and a desire to learn and share their love of history with others.
