How We Carry Out Our Mission: The Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter. We have one primary purpose: to receive charitable contributions and invest and manage them as a permanent endowment according to the charitable intentions of our donors and enriching the quality of life in Owen County.

Internships: The Community Foundation offers (2) paid summer internships for area college students. Working closely with the Community Foundation staff, our interns become an extension of the staff. 

Public Relations and Marketing Internship: This intern will assist with producing the Foundation's annual report and newsletters, writing media releases and social media posts, and documenting the Community Foundation's funds, donors, grants, and activities. This position requires good interviewing and writing skills; photography and videography experience are beneficial. 

During the spring and fall semesters, our interns typically work 16-20 hours per week, which we negotiate with each intern. 

Responsibilities

Create calendar & schedule of social media posts utilizing the analytics we have cultivated.

Create and deploy social media posts.

Work with the Director of Programs & Communication to create and publish the Foundation's 2024 Annual Report.

Other projects/tasks as requested by the Director of Programs & Communication or the CEO.

Qualifications

A college student enrolled in an Indiana institution pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to follow instructions, proof your own work, and be a self-starter who likes to keep busy. 

Desire to be a team player. 

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Canva, website development, and social media outlets. Must possess the ability to adapt to new technology.
