SUMMARY: Centier Bank’s Summer Internship Program is designed to help college students develop technical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities while experiencing the dynamic world of community banking. This 12-week program, beginning in May, provides a well-rounded, hands-on experience that includes:
- Program mentor for guidance throughout the internship
- Leadership panels with department heads
- Networking lunches with peers
- Multiple professional development workshops
- Capstone project presented to senior leadership
- National Intern Day celebration
- Opportunities to volunteer and serve the community
- Social events with fellow interns
Our program provides the foundational skills, support, and exposure needed to explore a long-term career with Centier Bank, all within a values-driven, supportive environment.
Internships require up to 40 hours a week and would work at various Centier Bank locations in Lake and Porter County. This is a paid internship.
The Centier Financial Partners & Centier Investment Services intern will focus within our fiduciary services and investments departments, dividing their time between both teams while supporting day-to-day tasks, ad hoc projects, and key initiatives as assigned. The intern will learn about managing client relationships, prospecting and referrals, investment, and trust management, as well as a variety of other service-related tasks. The intern will shadow professionals engaged in all areas of these departments, participating in various meetings (internal and client-facing) to better appreciate the role and skills required. The intern will also learn about the relationship between these departments and our Retail team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The internship at Centier is an opportunity to independently solve a critical business problem and contribute real-value to a fast-paced team.
- The intern is faced with a timely question or challenge from the Bank's business partners to think strategically and cross-functionally to provide a comprehensive recommendation during their final presentation.
- Interns have full support from a mentor and department supervisor(s) specific to each area of business within the department of study.
- The rotation may require significant interaction with various functions as a part of the project - marketing, finance, data analytics, tech solutions and retail/business banking to help bring the project to life.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables and follow up on items, as necessary.
- Self-starter, motivated, and looking to provide value in all activities.
- Ability to learn new information quickly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills are a necessity.
- The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Confident and friendly communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Leadership, teamwork, and client servicing ability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Current college enrollment in a related major/field of study
- You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Relocation expenses are not provided.
