Recreation Intern

Description

The mission of Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is to strengthen our community and serve residents through the acquisition, development and management of high quality, innovative parks and facilities for recreation, preservation, and programming. 

The intern will ensure we have high quality programs and supporting ammentities within CCPR. 

The intern will provide support to the Recreation Services Manager, Programming with administrative and operations projects. They will learn how to use ACTIVEnet, communicate with public, run events, learn general customer services, memebership and operations managment. 

Responsibilities

• Checking ID’s at events such as the Monon Mixer's
• Assist recreation staff in the planning, supervising, and evaluating recreation programs. 
• Assist facility guests with membership sales, day pass sales, tours and program registration
• Attend meetings within department - May facilitate some meetings
• Event set up and clean up
• Respond to suggestions and complaints in a timely manner. 
• Assist the Manager on call during weekends – will see the day to day operations of the waterpark.

Qualifications

Student is in either a Bachelor's or Master's program in parks and recreation, hospitality management, or related field.
