ESE/SCS Intern

Description

The mission of Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is to strengthen our community and serve residents through the acquisition, development, and management of high-quality, innovative parks and facilities for recreation, preservation, and programming. 

The intern will report to the Assistant Director of ESE/SCS. The learning goals for this position is to gain understanding of all summer camp programs and of the process of account management and parent communication to include emailing and completing phone calls. 

Responsibilities

The intern will complete the following tasks:

• Inventory management
• Assist in preparation of promotional materials, including seasonal brochures, flyers, posters, advertisements, social media posts, and news releases.
• Provide information about the ESE/SCS program to the public in a polite and effective manner.
• Assist with the evaluation of ESE/SCS programs to improve or expand existing programs.
• Facilitate school year/summer camp activities with 5-15 year old program participants.
• Supervise participants throughout all aspects of school year/summer camp programs.

Qualifications

Student in either Bachelor's or Master's program in recreation or related field

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must possess or be willing to acquire First Aid and CPR/AED

Preference to someone who possess a Steward of Children, QPR, and Verbal Intervention certification and maintain certification
