The Intensive Behavioral Intervention Intern is responsible for performing a variety of para-professional tasks related to the care of individuals served by Damar while working closely alongside the Intensive Behavioral Intervention team. Interns will learn skills related to direct behavior management, client observation, and development and documentation of specific behavior management plans.

  • Maintains prescribed level of productivity.
  • Assists with implementing, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and revising behavior programs as approved by the Manager or Director.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, teachers, staff, and other providers.
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.
  • Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Interacts with clients to demonstrate respect, acknowledgment of rights, and dignity at all times.
  • Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families and the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

What you need to start...

• High school diploma.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
• No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
