Description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to assist with daily operations at the Campus Store & Mail Center. This internship provides hands-on experience in customer service, business management, social media, and marketing, making it an excellent opportunity for someone interested in retail, marketing, and logistics.
Throughout the summer, you’ll gain valuable skills in retail operations, inventory management, and promotional marketing while supporting the campus community.
Responsibilities
Customer Service & Retail Operations
- Assist customers with their apparel, school supplies, postage, and other merchandise purchases.
- Process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Help students, faculty, and staff with package pickups, mailing services, and shipping inquiries.
- Maintain store organization, restock shelves, and set up product displays.
Business Management & Inventory Control
- Assist in tracking physical inventory levels and organizing stock.
- Support ordering and receiving shipments for gifts, apparel, and school supplies.
- Ensure timely distribution of mail and packages within the college community.
- Help with basic bookkeeping tasks such as logging sales and tracking invoices.
Social Media & Marketing
- Create engaging social media content to promote bookstore sales and special promotions.
- Assist in designing flyers, posters, and email campaigns for marketing initiatives.
- Help develop creative strategies to increase customer engagement and store traffic.
- Work with the team to plan and execute summer promotions and events.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Interest in business, retail, marketing, or logistics.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter).
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (experience with design tools like Canva is a plus!).
