Our internship program is designed to provide a dynamic and hands-on learning experience, emphasizing professional development and skill-building in a supportive environment. This intern will work closely with our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who will serve as their supervisor and mentor throughout the program. This mentorship includes regular guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities to engage in impactful projects that align with Thrive's goals.
Under the supervision of the CTO, interns will receive training in project management, technical analysis, and problem-solving strategies. They will also participate in team collaborations to gain insight into organizational processes and decision-making. The mentorship aims to encourage interns to expand their knowledge, embrace challenges, and develop critical skills essential for their future careers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing data to recommend improvements to existing systems or processes
  • Setting up new computers, networks, and software for new and existing employees
  • Providing support to Chief Technology Officer by answering phones, processing paperwork, and responding to user requests
  • Installing operating systems and other computer software applications on new computers
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all technology is working properly for the agency
  • Collecting, analyzing, and storing data for use in reports
  • Supporting the maintenance of existing computer systems, including troubleshooting problems with hardware and software
  • Assisting with computer network security by scanning for vulnerabilities and viruses
  • Providing technical support for computer hardware and software issues

Qualifications

  • Must currently enrolled in a post-secondary education
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems
  • Knowledge of computer network security and ability to identify vulnerabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex research into common language
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
  • Aptitude with various social media platforms as well as data tracking tools associated with them
  • Ability to quickly learn and process information
  • Organization and time management skills
