AutoCAD Internship

Description

We are seeking a motivated AutoCAD Intern to support our team.  This internship provides hands-on experience in designing, drafting, and optimizing fiber optic networks using AutoCAD and other design software.  The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and possess a strong foundation in CAD drafting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation & modification of fiber optic network designs using AutoCAD. 
• Interpret engineering drawings, field data, and GIS information to develop accurate fiber layouts. 
• Collaborate with the design team to produce construction drawings and as-built documentation.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with company & industry standards. 
• Organize and maintain project files, layouts, and schematics.  
• Support engineers and designers with data entry, documentation, and design revisions. 

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Engineering, Drafting, Telecommunications, or a related field. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus). 
• Familiarity with fiber optic design concepts and telecommunications infrastructure is a plus. 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. 
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, with basic ergonomic awareness. 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, this is an in-office position. 
• Ability to pass a background check.
