Description
Interns at Camp Red Cedar will provide therapeutic interventions to individuals in various settings, including facilities, communities, or home-based environments. Under the supervision of professional staff, they will engage in a range of ongoing activities and assigned tasks in accordance with facility standards, as well as state and federal regulations. The interns will deliver entry-level professional support services within their specialty fields, aligning their efforts with the day-to-day operating objectives of the organization. Additionally, they will assist in the planning and implementation of assigned projects, participating in programs designed to develop their professional skills and expertise to meet the organization's needs. By utilizing their acquired knowledge and skills, interns will effectively carry out and complete project activities, while also being prepared to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Interns will be responsible for maintaining state of Indiana billable criteria, providing education to caregivers, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards for clients. They must maintain CPR/First Aid certification and report any suspected abuse or neglect. Additionally, interns will implement age-appropriate recreational activities, complete state and federal documentation, and collect data on client progress. They will develop recreation therapy strategies aligned with individual goals, follow all relevant protocols, participate in a person-centered Individual Support Plan, attend departmental meetings, and take on other assigned duties.

Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in a qualified degree program with Recreational Therapy
Licensure/Certification:
Current valid driver’s license
Adult and Child CPR and/or First Aid
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, kneel and reach while working with clients for approximately 80-90% of the day. Use the full range of body motion. Perform First Aid and CPR. May require physical exertion for recreational activities.
