Family Coach Intern

Description

This internship at the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center (FBGNC) provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience in social work, human services, and community development. Interns will work closely with families in need, supporting them through resource coordination, case management, and goal setting. This role allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world, nonprofit setting, directly impacting the community.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in engaging and supporting families in setting and implementing appropriate goals.
• Work directly with clients, alongside a family coach, to assess needs, provide guidance, and connect them to resources.
• Assist with maintaining organized and confidential records, ensuring timely documentation in the ETO system.
• Participate in staff meetings, social service training, and Family Success team meetings.
• Assist coaches with providing basic needs assistance to clients based on their individualized plans.
• Support consistent follow-up and tracking using the 30-60-90 day Family Coach plan.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement innovative strategies that enhance family engagement and support services.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for community engagement, case management, and family support services.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with sensitive information
