Preschool Teaching Assistant

Description

Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center at Crooked Creek seeks enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Interns to support our preschool program. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education while working alongside experienced educators. Under the supervision of the Assistant Preschool Director, interns will assist in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role is ideal for students or individuals pursuing early childhood education careers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing activities that support the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development of children.
• Support lead educators in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Help monitor and document children’s daily activities and developmental progress.
• Engage with children through interactive play, storytelling, and structured learning activities.
• Provide positive guidance and assist in classroom management.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program related to Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or volunteer setting is a plus but not required.
• Ability to meet regulatory standards set by FSSA Licensing Guidelines, Paths to Quality, CACFP, and accreditation requirements.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education.
• Spanish or French fluency is a plus.
