Description

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The R&IP provides essential services to assist the new immigrants with their successful resettlement and community integration. The programs are conducted in collaboration with community partners and seek to improve newly arriving refugees’ ability to adjust well to the residential and work environments and to be able to enjoy the opportunities for self-sufficiency and success in self and community.

The assistant will also participate in and assist coordination of the R&IP by working closely with Program’s staff attorney and other case-managers in order to support coordination of outreach and services, overseeing quality assurance, and preparing pertinent data and narrative reports. The CM assistant works with the program staff members and partners to oversee and track project expenditures; file cases; maintain the project’s financial records; and monitor grants, donations, and in-kind goods and services received.

Responsibilities

  1. Resettlement Planning: Develop individualized resettlement plans in collaboration with clients, addressing housing, employment, education, and healthcare needs.
  2. Social Services: Assist clients in accessing social services, including healthcare, counseling, and language training.
  3. Education: Assist clients in enrolling in educational programs, such as language classes or vocational training.
  4. Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of clients when necessary to ensure their rights and needs are met.
  5. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients facing emergencies or challenges.
  6. Community Integration: Promote community integration and engagement for clients in their new environment.
