Description
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY: This individual will work with both campers who do not have a diagnosis and those with special needs. The staff member is responsible for managing the daily activities of their assigned participants in the camp program. They will adapt activities to meet the specific needs of the campers they support and ensure their full participation and inclusion. Additionally, the staff member will provide behavior management as needed and follow the behavior plans provided by the Field Supervisor. They will follow the directions of the Field Supervisor and Camp Director(s), collaborate with other staff members to organize all camp special events, maintain a safe environment, and communicate effectively with parents, staff, volunteers, camp directors, and the Field Supervisor.
Responsibilities
This individual will gain knowledge and understanding of the regulations governing summer camps as well as the procedures of the state of Indiana, facility usage, and emergency protocols. They will ensure the inclusion of campers and adapt and lead activities to meet the needs of assigned participants. They will follow and maintain behavior modification tools and plans, reporting any incidents to their supervisor promptly and efficiently. All areas of responsibility will be outlined during the intern orientation and will be reviewed and maintained throughout the internship.
Qualifications
License(s)/Certification(s) Required: A valid driver's license and auto insurance are recommended.
