Internship Summary: We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Program Assistant at Camp Red Cedar. In this role, you will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including PATH and CARF accreditations, while maintaining camper and participant files in accordance with HIPAA laws. You will coordinate staff training, communicate effectively with parents and guardians leading up to summer camp, and assist with weekly staff training sessions. Responsibilities also include editing staff manuals, processing paperwork, and creating learning modules for upcoming summer staff. You'll attend weekly meetings, support day-to-day office tasks, and help plan special events. A welcoming attitude toward campers, parents, and visitors is essential. Responsibilities

The role involves ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining camper and rider files in line with HIPAA standards. Responsibilities include creating weekly name tags, schedules, information sheets, and medication documentation, as well as organizing camper groups based on the schedule. Coordination of counselor training and processing camp paperwork, including communication with parents, is essential. Additionally, staff training for specific camps (e.g., Autism, Down Syndrome) must be arranged, and weekly customer satisfaction surveys should be distributed. Attendance at weekly camp meetings is necessary, with documentation kept in a binder. The position requires being a positive role model and adhering to safety policies while ensuring the health and safety of all staff and clients. Non-essential tasks include building referral relationships for summer programs, attending training sessions, and assisting with facility rentals and events.

Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated intern currently attending college or higher education who is eager to gain hands-on experience and fulfill their professional goals. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in computer use and hold a First Aid and CPR certification. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, alongside sound judgment, initiative, and dependability. We value responsibility, flexibility, honesty, and maturity in our team members.
