A Damar Internship is a real job providing valuable leadership, mentorship and coaching to the people we serve. Our program offers a great experience for anyone looking to go into the Health Services field. You will gain valuable exposure to our how our facility runs, unique client population, diverse team of highly qualified industry professionals as well as expand your peer network by working closely with other exceptional intern and practicum students with similar ambitions! The Health Services Administrator Intern is responsible for learning the overall operations of the health clinic and pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects that will enhance the agency’s health service programs.
• Attends and observes community meetings with the administrator.
• Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
• Shows initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction.
• Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances.
• Seeks the best use of materials, equipment, and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Meets the agency's standards of timely completion of progress notes.
• Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client.
• Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families, and the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Working towards a degree in Healthcare Administration and Junior/Senior in college preferred. 
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
• No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
