Description

The International Monster Truck Museum is looking for energetic, self-motivated, flexible individuals who are independent, creative, and willing to be team players. This is an opportunity for early career administrators to develop their skills while working with our development staff. The Development/Fundraising Intern will have the opportunity to support each fundraising area (individual, corporate, and foundation giving). Interested candidates should be able to conduct traditional and online research, manage appointments, take detailed notes, type, and be comfortable making and taking phone calls. The internship will enhance an early career administrator's skills with hands on experience in corporate and foundation relations, contract fulfillment, and strategic long-range planning.  

Responsibilities

Take notes and meeting minutes.

Conduct research on current and potential donors.

Assist staff with the design and implementation of comprehensive development plan to include annual fund, foundations, corporations, and private donations.

Assist with drafting letters of intent, proposals and letter writing for effective solicitation of prospects

Help to build and maintain database of donors.

Help to develop and maintain appropriate program of donor recognition for assigned fund-raising areas.

Assist in preparing for special events for board members, corporate sponsors and other types of funders. 

Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Applicants should have an interest in non-profit management, event planning,  marketing, fundraising and/or business.
  • Previous development experiences desirable.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be a self-starter, and work well with little supervision.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comparable fundraising software.
